Entrepreneurial Eagles Networking Breakfast Sept. 29, 2010 Featured Richard Scruggs
About 50 were in attendance at the Cockrell Scout Center on Wednesday, September 29
for Entrepreneurial Eagle networking. Richard Scruggs gave a stirring talk on the value
of a Scouting upbringing to help entrepreneurs BE PREPARED for the myriad of challenges
that face us. Said Eagle Scout Duane Germenis on Linkedin, "Great breakfast and great
speaker. If everyone brought one more Eagle Scout, we could double the connections to
be made."

The June 16 Entrepreneurial Eagle Scout Networking Breakfast featured Eagle Scout Bill
Venema who presented "What, Why and Critical Steps in Selling Your Business", a program
on methods to build a business of marketable value. It was a great event with about 40
in attendance.
March 3 Eagle Scout Networking Event Featured Charlie Rawl
On March 3, 2010, Eagle Scout Charlie Rawl presented "Holding Fast To Our Ethical Compass
In Trying Times" at two events, with 100 Eagle Scouts in attendance.
Entrepreneurial Eagles met for a networking breakfast and Accounting Profession Eagles met
for a networking luncheon. Mr. Rawl, an Eagle Scout who became known as one of the
"whistleblowers" in the Stanford Financial scandal, discussed his experience at Stanford,
the red flags he saw and brought to management’s attention, and how his "ethical compass"
led him to leave the company, ultimately saving his clients and his career.
